#36 HDPE Batting Cage Net

Our HDPE #36 net is among the best batting cage nets. Excellent choice for a high-end backyard net, but also perfectly suitable for commercial applications! We have sold thousands of these cages to colleges, professional baseball teams, and municipalities.

2" O.D. Powder Coated Galvanized Steel Poles

Our Thumper Batting Cage frames are constructed with 2" outside diameter galvanized powder-coated steel tubing. If your batting cage frame will be exposed to the wind, you will need at least 2" outer diameter tubing. Our black powder coating holds up very well to intense sun or rain and will look great for years.

7x7 Standard L-Screen

Our standard L-Screen has been around for many years. Featuring heavy-duty 1.5″ O.D. steel tubing with locking snap-pin construction, it is easy to assemble and store in the off-season. The non-reflective black powder-coated finish looks fantastic and protects against the elements.

The footprint size is different from the net size. This cage's frame is larger than the net size to give some space between the net and poles. If you choose a net size of 12ft wide, your ground sleeves will be placed at 14ft 9in wide. If you select a net size of 14ft wide, you will place them at 16ft wide. For the length, add 2ft to the net size.

Example: A 12ft W x 55ft L net size will have a 14ft 9in W x 57ft L total footprint. 

Concrete or Concrete-Free Ground Sleeves

Ground sleeves are necessary if you plan to take your frame down during the off-season. They significantly add to the stability of your batting cage frame. This package has the option of concrete ground sleeves or concrete-free ground sleeves.

Disclaimer: Weather-related damage (wind, snow, etc.) to batting cage poles is not covered or considered a defect. 

• Make sure the netting moves freely for maxium wear and ball control. Don’t secure the bottom rope of the netting or tie the bottom of the netting down in any way. It needs to be able to move in order for the netting to absorb the speed of the ball.
• Make sure the netting is at least 24” away from anything solid, such as a wall or chain link fence.
• Always keep spectators behind the hitter, and a safe distance from the net
• Inspect netting regularly for any area where a ball might go through. Netting is subject to wear, and this wear rate is completely subject to the following factors:
• AMOUNT OF USE. More use equals faster wear.
• WEATHER CONDITIONS. The more sun, the shorter the lifespan. High winds will present side loads on the netting and thus the frame, much like a sail on a boat. If the weather prediction is for strong winds, we recommend taking down the netting.
• NETTING TENSION. We recommend hanging netting loosely. The tighter the net, the faster it will wear out.
• If the netting is worn or damaged, we recommend to stop using it until it is replaced or repaired.

The majority of weather-related incidents involving batting cages occur when the nets are left up during higher winds, snow, and ice. Therefore, BCI suggests that the net should always be taken down before the onset of inclement weather. A stake down kit can help prevent- but not eliminate damage (sold separately).
