#42 KVX200 Batting Cage Net

Our Beartrap™ net is simply the best outdoor commercial batting cage available. An excellent choice for a high-end backyard net, but also perfectly suitable for commercial applications! We have sold thousands of these cages to colleges, professional baseball teams, and municipalities.

Beartrap premium netting contains a UV inhibitor with a polymer commonly used in bulletproof vests. We extruded the individual fibers and braided them into twine. Lastly, we dipped the twine in a black carbon-based dye, adding UV protection and color stability. For quality assurance, we conducted side-by-side comparisons of KVX200™ and nylon. We found that these enhancements significantly extend the outdoor life of our netting. Our Beartrap netting remains intact and dark black while nylon slowly breaks down and fades to brown.

5x7 Vinyl Backdrop

Extend the life of your batting cage with our heavy-duty vinyl backdrop. This backdrop panel is 5' wide x 7' tall and is designed to take a beating from pitching machines.

Note: Please do not attach the lower corners of the vinyl backdrop tight to the net. Doing so will cause the net to tear from heightened wear. We recommend 6" of slack with twine or bungee loops.

4" Powder-coated Steel Frame

The Iron Horses' strength begins with a 4" steel frame at each end of the cage. The frame comes ready to accept our tension hardware and cable system. This system ensures our KVX200 nets will hang properly without significant sag. 

Stability for the Iron Horse is a function of our engineering and design teams' industry-leading innovation. When our cabling system is tightened, the top of the cage will fall inwards, and the bottom will kick out away from the tension. We combat this movement with an innovative back-bracing system. Unlike a typical brace that extends out from the cage, our system runs parallel toward the center to create a stable four-point platform while saving you space.

Bata 2 Combo Pitching Machine

The BATA-2 Pitching Machine (recommended for 55ft or 70ft length) is a top choice for baseball teams at all levels. Capable of throwing any type of pitch, including fastballs, curveballs, and sliders, the BATA-2 can reach speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. This package includes everything you'll need for a complete installation except concrete.

Concrete Free: The Iron Horse is easy to install using our 18" Heavy Duty Ground Stakes. No holes, cement, or special tools are required, provided your soil conditions are suitable. However, stakes will not have sufficient holding power in sand, fresh fill, or overly saturated ground.

Concrete: This batting cage can be securely installed using j-bolts for anchoring into concrete. 

Footprint Size

The footprint size is different from the net size. This cage's frame is larger than the net size. If you choose a net size of 12ft wide, your footprint will be 14ft 5in wide. If you select a net size of 14ft wide, the footprint will be 16ft 5in wide. For the length, add 5ft to the net size.

Example: A 12ft W x 55ft L net size will have a 14ft 5in W x 60ft L total footprint.

Disclaimer: Weather-related damage (wind, snow, etc.) to batting cage poles is not covered or considered a defect. 

• Make sure the netting moves freely for maxium wear and ball control. Don’t secure the bottom rope of the netting or tie the bottom of the netting down in any way. It needs to be able to move in order for the netting to absorb the speed of the ball.
• Make sure the netting is at least 24” away from anything solid, such as a wall or chain link fence.
• Always keep spectators behind the hitter, and a safe distance from the net
• Inspect netting regularly for any area where a ball might go through. Netting is subject to wear, and this wear rate is completely subject to the following factors:
• AMOUNT OF USE. More use equals faster wear.
• WEATHER CONDITIONS. The more sun, the shorter the lifespan. High winds will present side loads on the netting and thus the frame, much like a sail on a boat. If the weather prediction is for strong winds, we recommend taking down the netting.
• NETTING TENSION. We recommend hanging netting loosely. The tighter the net, the faster it will wear out.
• If the netting is worn or damaged, we recommend to stop using it until it is replaced or repaired.

BCI bears no responsibility for any damages caused by adverse weather conditions. The majority of weather-related incidents involving batting cages occur when the nets are left up during higher winds, snow, and ice. Therefore, BCI suggests that the net should always be taken down before the onset of inclement weather. A stake down kit can help prevent- but not eliminate damage (sold separately).
